Mercedes A200 – Enhancement Detail with Ceramic Coating

This A200 was in for an enhancement detail and 12-month ceramic coating. The owner had just purchased it, unfortunately the last owner hadn’t treated it with much care, and the signs were evident in the paint. Covered in heavy swirls and defects from incorrect washing, it’s fair to say it’s taken a beaten. In light of this, after inspection of the paint, it was discussed with the customer to upgrade to a 2 stage heavy or medium cut and polish in some areas where it was needed., before applying a ceramic coat. This was agreed, and we got to work.

We fully washed the car and carried out a chemical de-contamination. A 3 stage process, with the last being clay bar. The wheels received the same treatment. De-ioniser followed by tar remover. We carried out the paint correction, this also included correction of the gloss black pillars. Next was a full IPA wipe down to remove any polish residue in preparation for the ceramic. The ceramic coating was applied giving the protection and gloss needed on black paint, which is one of the toughest colours to keep perfect.
