MINI Cooper S - Legend Detail (full works) Paint Correction and Enhancement with Ceramic coatings

This stunning wee motor is the third vehicle handed over to us from a very loyal and returning customer. The car is 3 years old and absolutely trashed by the previous owner. Now is the time, right before winter, to get it looking like better than new again by eliminating all the defects in the paint and gloss black areas. This was part of our “LEGEND DETAIL” package which essentially is a full works service, a one stage paint enhancement was not going to be any use here. The damage to the paint was just far too great and the only way was to carry out a multi stage correction and refining process. We also opted for our 2-year ceramic coating protection package on paint and wheels, locking in all the hard work. This was probably my toughest job to date, with 18 hours of correction and refining work alone. The results are just outstanding.

Starting with the pre rinse using bug remover and snow foam, followed by a high pressure rinse to loosen all the dirt. This allowed us to continue on with the safe hand wash along with the wheels which were chemically decontaminated and sealed with a protective wet coating. We then carried out our 3 stage paint decontamination service including clay bar to remove all embedded contaminates that cant be removed during the hand wash stage followed by a second wash to remove leftover chemical products. The car was rinsed with our 0ppm de-ionised water solution and dried thoroughly, ready for the paint correction.

After a thorough paint inspection, we got to work with cutting the paint with a heavy compound. Some sections took a number of passes to really get into the clear coat and level out the defects. We then started the refining process using a high gloss polish with added carnauba wax to really make the paint pop. We also used a 2 stage cut and polish on all the gloss black areas including the roof section which was in really bad shape.

After a full IPA wipe down removing all polish residue we applied our protective coating, locking in all the correction and polishing while keeping the car protected when out on the road. For this the owner upgraded to our 2 year ceramic coating package which has amazing defensive capabilities against swirls, light scratches and water marks to name a few.

The alloys received a chemical decontamination to remove all the tar spots before we also applied a ceramic coating.

The black trim was restored and enhanced to make a deep black shine, along with rubbers and tyres glossed.
