BMW 335 Msport - Enhancement Detail with 1 yr protective coating

We had this amazing machine in for an enhancement detail. The owner contacted us after he had taken it to a local roadside hand wash or scratch and wash as we like to call them (please avoid) who just demolished the black paint.

We quoted for a one stage correction and possibly 2 stage depending on paint inspection, however the owner mentioned of trading in the motor. Therefore it wouldn't have been wise to go all in and instead try keep a budget in mind and get the paint back to a reasonable state.

We got to work carrying the usual pre rinse and safe hand wash on exterior and wheels. Next was the paint decontamination. one of the most important steps before machine polishing. This included a clay bar which removed all contaminates and we were left with fresh paint. The car was, dried and rolled inside ready to inspect the paint.

We went with a one stage fine cut and refining polish on most of the paint. In some areas the defects were much heavier, like front bumper and rear boot lip. We went heavy cut compound and a second stage refining polish for these areas. The gloss black pillars were next removing all swirls. After the polishing we did a full IPA wipe down and started on the protective coating.

The customer upgraded to a 1 yr coating of Fusso. We recommended this was best to keep costs down but also how good it is at repelling water on black cars. It also adds some amazing gloss to the paint and just look at the results we ended up with. Wow, when black paint is good, its really good.
