Kia Picanto - Paint Enhancement

We got this wee picanto in from a returning customer for his sons birthday. The lucky lad got a paint enhancement detail and took advantage of the 6 month wax coating that comes as standard with any detail package. The red paint as always was showing signs of fading and a good handful of defects such as swirls and holograms. We got to work using a fine cut compound with a good gloss which removed it all and gave the paint a whole new look. With the car looking fresh, he can show it off to all his mates, and guaranteed it’s the best looking picanto around Aberdeen.

Starting with the pre rinse using bug remover and snow foam, followed by a high pressure rinse to loosen all the dirt. This allowed us to continue on with the safe hand wash along with the wheels which were chemically decontaminated and sealed with a protective wet coating. We then carried out our 3 stage paint decontamination service including clay bar to remove all embedded contaminants that cannot be removed during the hand wash stage followed by a second wash to remove leftover chemical products. The car was rinsed with our 0ppm de-ionised water solution and dried thoroughly, ready for the paint correction.

After a thorough paint inspection, we opted for a fine cut machine polish. This had the enough cut to eliminate all the defects and just enough gloss to keep this job a one stage.

After a full IPA wipe down removing all polish residue we applied our protective coating, locking in all the correction and polishing while keeping the car protected when out on the road. For this the owner kept to the original 6 month wax coating which comes as standard with all our detailing packages. The product used here was Blithamber speed wax. A fantastic wax with huge amount of gloss and hydrophobic properties.

We also polished the chrome tailpipes along with an interior clean and tyres glossed.

Every car is special to someone even when its a wee pocket motor like this. What we care about is the finish not how much the car costs.
